Basement Setlist...sorta
I broke a string on the second song, which always makes me lose momentum and get thrown off-balance. i ‘m kind of a perfectionist, in some ways, when it comes to a show, and i get a little bugged out when i’m infront of people and it’s clear i have no idea what to do next. it’s like that dream we all have about standing in front of people naked, except it actually...

finally figured out
that the over-riding belief of my life has been this:
if you can’t say something new, don’t say it.
maybe that’s useful in some settings, but not in the day-to-day world.
Hmm...
I came home from work and drank two big glasses of wine too fast, now i am not really part of the world and nothing is making sense. I will provide minutes to future gigs in the form of set lists and audience reactions from henceforth. that will be part of the fun from now on; from now on, rock set lists and my/band’s reactions will be de rigeur.
Finally Realizing
How long and lonely this trek to artistic independence will be…this is my life and i love it, but there’s never going to be a moment when i feel like i’m finished. all i have to do is stick with it, make music, share it with the world and have fun. i’ve gone back and read the blog posts from some of my favorite artists that go back 3-4 years, and i realize that they were...
the keene show was fun
i love playing that place. i don’t know why i don’t blog about other places, but i really like playing there. we sound better and better all the time. i hope the jams stay together and keep growing. please, god, let the center hold.

“…for fans of music that is done seamlessly, pretty, technically correct and without mistakes this bands fuckin great!”
president's day
happy president’s day….the article was an interesting phenomenon. There were people at our shows that none of us had seen/met before as a result of it. That’s the idea, right, but it feels a little less personal (and somehow more fun to rock) when there are strangers in the room. it’s easy to say, “fuck it, i am going to rock the hell out of this song because that...
check yr papers on thursday
for a little feature about drew and the colonel.s that is all.. in the meantime, come to our show at the blackmoon, you won’t be sorry for long.
dh
so i get to
reconnect, kind of, with people through facebook. it’s strange. i see these pictures of people i always wanted to be liked by-i have always wanted to be liked by everyone-and all i can think about is how different we were and are; i will always be a black cloud to them, and they will always be the people whose respect and approbation i craved. it’s true. remember that, internets,...

The Krugmanator
OP-ED COLUMNIST
By PAUL KRUGMAN
Published: January 29, 2009
The whole world is in recession. But the United States is the only wealthy country in which the economic catastrophe will also be a health care catastrophe — in which millions of people will lose their health insurance along with their jobs, and therefore lose access to essential care.
Which raises a question: Why has the Obama...
I can't sing
I have a great band, I write good songs. I can’t sing, and everybody knows it. It’s like listening to a water buffalo give birth to a freight train. I try so fucking hard all the damn time to write better and better music. That’s what I’ve got - so I’m gonna rock it as best I can.
Moment of Silence
I read RA’s farewell letter to the music world with great sadness. The Cardinals will be no more after March. RA has been my guiding star, musically, and I will miss the creative challenge of listening to his music with a critical ear and trying to be as good as him. From one outsider to the next: farwell, brave soul, this corner of the music world will miss you.

Cassadega and Manatees
Today, we are going down to blue springs to see the manatees. After that, fortune telling at the only spiritualist community in Florida. I can’t wait. Ah, to be a colonel.

Snow
It has snowed in New England, and everything is white and still. There are no cars on the road, and, for once, everyone has the good sense to sleep in and stay home on a Saturday morning.
I love my band
We’re such a team. I love all of them.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SARAH
