Snow
It has snowed in New England, and everything is white and still. There are no cars on the road, and, for once, everyone has the good sense to sleep in and stay home on a Saturday morning.
I love my band
We’re such a team. I love all of them.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SARAH

Sickness
I am very sick today. I have this thick funk in my nose and I sound like I have barnacles growing on my vocal chords. It would be cool if I sounded like this all the time because I could sing soul music, for real, but I couldn’t do much else. It’s a bit robotic. I’ve slept non-stop and I have the chills. Ugh.
Movie to See
Drew here:
S* - I feel sufficiently geezered…I totally forgot about that show. It sounded awesome. I want a time machine…right now….one, two, three…hold breath…hold…open eyes. DANG. no luck…I will redouble the efforts to support the locals!
On another note - you have to see “Let the Right One In”. It is creepy, beautiful, sweet and...
Stewart Lewis & Reed Foehl-a family affair
Sasha here. I spent last evening at PACE in Easthampton. My friend Stewart was doing a show with his brother, Reed Foehl, who is also a singer/songwriter (definitely genetic-Mom is a founding member of the bluegrass band “The Centre Streeters” and is a 70 year-old hot shit). I have seen Stewart perform many times but I was curious to see two very different brothers with two very different styles...
Benefits of flossing
Dang. I just flossed the hell out of my teeth, and it feels like a cool, clean winter breeze is flowing in between my chompers.
Awesome
News for yous
Folks out there in music land,
I want y’all to know that the Colonels are taking over booking responsibilities at this little place in Greenfield called Hope & Olive. It’s a rad little place (not really little) with killer mint juleps, awesome food and nice folks - just the sort of place that needs to have good music. Anyhow, if you are interested (and reading this probably...
spilled soup
Coming into an already-established band can be quite intimidating, but not when it’s Super Drew, Lisa Lap Steel & Pietro Von Take-My-Pulse. These 3 are as down-to-earth as a worm doing push-ups and I feel so fortunate that they picked me up at that yard sale one fine August morning.
On a more mundane note, I just dropped my soup in the middle of a teenager-jammed hallway. Sweet.
la la la
Today is going to be a great day. The coffee’s just right. The blueberries have melted into the oatmeal. I have all the time in the world, and I love it. This morning is perfect. Band practice was a “heavy lifting” session. This means we focused on a few moments in the newer songs; we tightened them, we harmonized, we worked on a new vocal track for lisa lapsteel. This is...
