Basement Setlist…sorta
I broke a string on the second song, which always makes me lose momentum and get thrown off-balance. i ‘m kind of a perfectionist, in some ways, when it comes to a show, and i get a little bugged out when i’m infront of people and it’s clear i have no idea what to do next. it’s like that dream we all have about standing in front of people naked, except it actually happens. anyway, without further ado, the set list…

it could have been as bad as the last time we played toad. i broke a string in the first thirty seconds and we couldn’t figure out the sound; on top of that, your beloved first drummer, ricky, was in jail, and lisa had a stomach bug - which led to some nastiness with the green room trash can - anyway, it was a saturday night and there were four people in there by the time we finished. rough, indeed. best quote from that long-ago night: dude at bar to peter, “you’ll find something else to do, don’t get down.”
we effin pulled through last night though. i felt everything going away, and then we brought it back together. that’s the first time we’ve done that. usually our shows are either all-great or all-soso. this one went from soso to great.
